COVID-19 Update from Cedar Lake Village

by | Mar 11, 2020 | Cedar Lake Village News

Cedar Lake Village provides a safe, secure and healthy environment for residents, employees and visitors. We are taking extra precautions to safeguard our residents, some of our most vulnerable citizens, to protect them from the spread of infectious diseases, like the COVID-19, formerly referred to as the coronavirus. The actions we are taking include:

* Implementing new visitor policies as recommended by AHCA (American Health Care Association) and NCAL (National Center for Assisted Living) restricting all non-essential visits to assisted living facilities to help prevent COVID-19 from entering these communities. This includes restricting visits, school groups and other community events regularly scheduled at these facilities.

* Posting signs at community entrances instructing visitors not to visit if they have symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, sore throat, cough, new shortness of breath);

* Asking employees to stay home if they have symptoms of respiratory infection.

There are simple things all of us can do to help keep healthy:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

The spread of COVID-19 confirmed cases continues daily in the United States. We remain on a heightened awareness of all infectious diseases that may impact our residents, employees and visitors and are doubling-down on all procedures to protect our residents and employees from the spread of this virus.
